why?

Dear Jenna,

I'm not up to speed on the current politics, but while I was at NCNM we had students both transferring into and out of the program for various dissatisfactions.

NDs are all cats. What pleases one will not please another. While at NCNM we had a complete change over of philosophy professor, a new biochemistry professor, two changes in control of the manipulation program, and went from clinic at the old school to the new community based clinical programs. We also went through the process to add the Masters in Chinese Medicine while I was there.

So while the profession is ancient, the ways of teaching it, and the people teaching it are different from year to year.

Bastyr had the image of being somewhat "above" the other schools in terms of attitude while I was at NCNM, but I would ultimately make a gut decision about where you want to be. If you click with the students, then you have a good sense of what will work for you.

I hope this is helpful.
