It's true that naturopathic medicine initially attracts a certain type of person to seek out this type of care. Many naturopathic physicians I've spoken with actually like this aspect of it. They want to work with patients who are active, willing participants in their care and typically, these are the kinds of people who seek out naturopathic medicine or some other form of alternative medicine.

Maybe some things to consider:
1)What are your own personal philosophies towards medicine? Conventional? Alternative?
2) Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Does your state license NDs?
3) Private practice or hospital-based?
4) Underpriveledged communities or not?
