In general, most nursing programs are fairly holistic (or biopsychsocial) in scope. Also, in general, most NP programs don't include much natural medicine in their curriculums. Though, they do teach patient education for self care as well as nutritional counseling. But, there are plenty of opportunities outside of the core curriculum to learn these therapies (electives, seminars, CEUs). Some NP programs also heve a "holistic NP" specialty.
Like myself, my former Bastyr classmate usually attempt to enter FNP programs. This is more to make upfor deficits in science based medical education and the poor clinical experience from BU, rather than to further our "alternative" care experience.
