Dear Nadine,
I believe there are over sixty different types on the market, so it really shouldn't be an issue and should be an ongoing discussion with your prescribing doctor.
The issue may actually be a problem of decreased estrogen. All sex hormones are bound to sex hormone binding globulin (the sex hormone taxi). If a person doesn't have enough hormones, almost all the hormones will be bound (all hormones in taxis, with taxis left over). If there is an excess of one hormone, other hormones are released because the globulins get overfilled (not enough taxis, so extra hormone is active in the body).
The most natural way to increase testosterone is...red meat. Alcohol will decrease it, while raising estrogen levels.
I hope this is helpful.
