Phytoestrogens and osteoporosis

Posted by Jessica F. on 04/26/05 5:36:21 PM

I have moderate osteoporosis and my PCP recommends hormone replacement therapy. I am generally against synthetic hormones. I was recommended HRT in the past to cope with the menopausal symptoms, but took a natural approach instead with phytoestrogens, etc., which worked very well. I am surprised to see a lot of information on calcium and Vitamin D, but not much on phytoestrogens when it comes to osteoporosis. I wonder if anyone wants to share their experience with ‘natural estrogens’ to control osteoporosis.

Thank you.
