Problems due to Mirena?

I had my Mirena for four years. I have not had any problems (except weight gain) until about six months ago. I have severe stabbing pain (although not constant) on my ovaries that seems to come out of "nowhere." I have had two ultrasounds and even though I have some cysts, the dr. does not seem to think those are causing the pain. He basically does not have any answer. I would love to a) get rid of the paid b) drop the weight. Any ideas or similar experiences?
