Re: Problems with mirena after 2 yrs

I too have had problems after 2 years, I had it put in in Dec of 05 and since then I have gained about 10 to 12 pounds. (I have always weighed about 110 pounds and there have been times that I have gotten on the scales and tipped it at 128!) I have loads of bloating. I asked the doctor for a water pill and that seems to help. I have cramping all the time and I am on my period for 3 weeks and then I won't bleed for a few days and then it starts back up again.

So I had it removed last week so far I feel better, but I am bleeding and clotting alot from the removal. I feel so much better knowing that the weight gain is attributed to this because my OB said that I was just getting older and that was the cause of the weight gain. I am only 43 and in great shape. Oh, by the way that is another thing. If I would quit bleeding for a few days it would start back up 2 fold when I would exercise. GO FIGURE!!
