problems with mirena (fyi)
i'm sooo glad to hear this from so many people!!! only wish i had found this BEFORE i had mirena inserted. i'm having it removed in 2 weeks. i've been inexplicably tired, can't lose a pound to save my life-trying to shed baby weight and i lost 40 lbs. right after giving birth to my daughter and since i got the mirena inserted (about 2 months ago) i've lost a pound..i'm on weight watchers and i exercise 3-4 times a week. it's been so disheartening to get on the scale every week and fluctuate up and down 2 lbs. i've also lost my sex drive completely. and my appetite is insatiable-much like your appetite in the first trimester. my dr. said that mirena had no unpleasant side effects and pretty much guaranteed that it wouldn't cause weight gain. and i haven't gained weight but i am 50 pounds over my prepregnancy weight and can't shed a pound. just a heads up for anyone thinking about getting the mirena...be cautious!!!
