Radiation poisoning

My brother handled some kind of radioactive material in his job. Not long after this, he suddenly began to have severe problems with his hands. Nodules, stiffness and pain similar to arthritis appeared. He can hardly use his hands. They are red and swollen too. He has been to several doctors and nobody has a diagnosis for him. He has been dealing with this for over 2 years. I just recently found out that he had the exposure. Do these sound like symptoms of radition poisoning and will detoxing the radiation help?
