That's great that the Mirena has worked for some, but based on the opinions, most women have had major problems. Statistically the Mirena puts you at the highest risk for all kinds of things. Even though people should be smart enough to be protected during sex, they're not which puts them at a much higher risk of getting STDs including HIV. You are also more prone to other infections because the string that hangs down through the cervix is VERY unsanitary carrying lots of bacteria that is just waiting to cause a problem. I would never recommend that any woman EVER get an IUD. If I personally experienced 10 plus symptoms, why would I want anyone else to suffer like that? Odds are against them.
