I can relate to how you feel unfortunately. I too have been suffering but with multiple scalp cysts. I have it because my dermatologist made a surgical error in 06 when attempting to re-excision a single pilar cyst that re-occured that he had excised in 1998. He would not acknowledge any thing was wrong, and the rapidly growing condition contains lots of sticky keratin and it was calcifying my thick hair. I first developed folliculitis over the excision, and then it became systemic, going into other body parts. That was March 06, and I've been trying to get my hair and body back ever since, it is difficult because it is systemic and progressive. I did not know skin, with hair on it, could stretch like this. I've been to many doctors, most had no clue, but I found one that has been giving me monthly steriod shots all around my head that is helping. This has been the most painful, frightening medical mystery disaster I could have never imagined happening. I've had to research or invent a lot of home therapies that have helped me as I've become a hermit. The doctor's behavior was inhumane; he just wanted to ditch responsibility and did not care about my pain and how I looked, like I had cancer or alopecia.
I'm still not better, but remaining optimistic, but I want my life back! Peace to you
and good health in 09
