I have never heard of using Topamax for weight loss. The only thing that will get people to lose weight is to reduce the number of calories consumed and increase excercise to burn the calories your body does not need for energy. If you consume more than you burn, one will always be overwieght. Excercise can be as simple as walking with ankle weights and small dumb bells with swinging your arms while walking. No one but the most athletic persons need to comsume more than 1800 calories a day. If you eat 3 x's per day, then each meal should contain no more than 600 calories. Stopping consumption of all foods made from grains, such as wheat, corn, oats, etc. should be avoided at all costs. Your carbs should come from vegetables such as greens, broccoli, etc. If you can eliminate all grains from your diet, the weight will melt off of you faster than you thought possible. Read labels to determine the amount of carbs per serving and the number of calories per serving. If I was you, I'd look up the side effects of Topamax and then decide if you want to take it. It seems unnecessary to me. Hope this is helful, as you are heading for diabetes and cardiovascular problems in your future.
