But they DO treat symptoms in many, many cases. Two ND's I went to treated symptoms, with a different "professional grade" supplement for each one. It was very expensive and time-consuming. We did the yeast overgrowth thing, elimination diet and herbs, etc. It wasn't yeast overgrowth. One ND was more new-agey than the other and didn't believe in lab tests and the other ND said she wasn't allowed to order them - so it was a guessing game.

The less flakey ND did prescribe Pe Min Kan Wan for severe drippy allergy symptoms in the a.m. and this dried it all up almost miraculously, but we never did find out what actually caused the allergies.
