Update 11/11/05:
I feel much better already after just 10 days! The moodiness has disappeared, and my head feels much clearer. I didn't even mention that symptom below, but I have noticed a considerable difference in my thinking, so it's worth mentioning. I didn't have a lot of acne with the Mirena, but that is gone too -- FYI -- I usually don't have any.
I haven't lost any weight yet, but haven't really tried. I haven't gained any more. And now, that awful craving to eat and eat is gone, so I have started today on a plan to actively lose the weight. I'll check back in at the end of the month.

Hi -- I just had my Mirena removed today 11/3/05. I got it about 2.5 months ago and have gained 7 lbs, even though I've been trying to lose! I also experienced the mood swings, skin problems, etc. I know a lot of people have been looking for answers on weight loss after it's removed, so I'm making a note on my calendar to write back in the middle of Nov and at the end of Nov to give you an update.
It didn't hurt at all to have the Mirena out. I had a ParaGard put in -- the copper IUD WITHOUT hormones. I've had one before, so I'm comfortable with that, even though I know my periods will be a little heavier--at least it won't make me crazy and fat! The Mirena hurt so much when it was put in, but the ParaGard didn't. Not sure why. Also, I had severe cramps for several days after the Mirena was put in, but today with the ParaGard, I'm only having tiny twinges occasionally.
Check back soon!
