Does anyone here have any actual experience (or know others personally) who have been $180k+ in debt, and then still managed to not default after their starting practices made only $20-30k????? I guess if you have an additional degree (like nursing) like Vance says.... that would help, as you could work nights while you were in school. But besides a flexible degree like that, you are pretty much stuck. I haven't heard many stories of what people did after they graduated well in the $100ks of loan, and what they did afterwards to pick themselves up. Do you just have to work 3 jobs?? Or did the people who made it have a rich spouse? Since I have neither a rich spouse, no prior income, and a prior degree that doesn't have much after-hours job flexibility... I'll be in the $180k loan category making $20k when I'm done... unless I decide to just go to MD school, like everyone is telling me. I'm interested to know how people overcame their challenges. Stories anyone?
