Due to my dad's heart disease and some fluttering feelings, skipped beats and high stress lately, I decided to see a cardiologist. Also, a friend had sent lots of articles on the differences in women's heart problems and mens.
I think this cardiologist is great, very thorough, holistic, and we found a lot of abnormalities: right wall motion abnormality, enlarged right atrium, buckled leaflets on the tricuspid valve allowing a jet into the atrium, low ejection fraction (but still normal), and an elevated LPa-1 (19 with an LDL of 132, but a good cholesterol ratio). Due to the high LPa-1, she wants me to take Zocor.
My health was seriously compromised by a quack (convicted and jailed) wherein I lost 25 pounds 4 years ago, dropped below 100 lbs (I'm 53"). I was athletic before this. I never have felt energetic, haven't really eaten that well, have lower appetite, and to regain some weight, ate a lot of fatty foods, didn't exercise due to multiple muscle injuries, and just overall felt crappy.
I want to do other things before I do Zocor. My mother ended up in the hospital from Zocor side effects.
Anyone have any suggestions for supplements. Doc and a lot of literature says diet will help but not that much.
