When I was about 23 weeks pregnant a urine test showed protein in the urine. Turned out I was gestational diabetic, which I understand manifests itself at the end of the second trimester. Properly treated this was not a threat to either me or my son...who was delivered heatlhy by c-section...now 8 years old. If I did not drink enough water on a daily basis, protein in the urine would increase. Have they done a glucose test on your daughter as well...this was how they confirmed the Gestational diabetes. Upon delivery there was no more glucose or protein in my urine. But I was told that developing gestational diabetes is a strong indication that I am predisposed to develop adult on-set diabetes...therefore I live my life and make excercise and nutritional choices accordingly.
