My son has had excema since 2 mo., breastfed for 11 mo. It has progressively covered a smaller area of his body, but is still persistent. We\'ve identified some food allergies on our own, allergy tests have been almost completely negative. We\'ve had some periods of clear skin, but then it returns for reasons I do not know. We can\'t get his skin cleared to do elimination diet yet. How did you go about identifying all of the food allergies in the midst of flares.
Can my pediatrician test for a
yeast infection? Did you use topical steroids to clear the skin to test for food allergies? What brand of pro-biotics did you use? I\'ve heard differing thoughts on what strains of probiotics are safe, but he\'s been on acidophilus for a while. His known allergies are: tomatoes, nuts (all kinds), fish/shrimp, honey, dairy (goat and cow), possibly wheat, irritable bowels with fruits other than appples and bananas. Other than the excema and sleep issues with it, he looks very healthy and acts so, until you see his legs! Any input would be great, he can\'t tolerate the codliver oil due to fish allergies, has reacted negatively to other omega3\'s when applied topically. We\'ve done the bath soaks and euceri n for a while.
Thanks.
