Re: welbutrin hair loss

I\'ve been taking Welbutrin XL for about 3 years now and have been very pleased at how effective it is in treating my depression. However, I have lost literally half of my hair volume. The great news is I had a lot of hair. The bad news is that I hate how thin my hair has gotten, because it was always the things people noticed about me - my thick, easy to style hair. Now, I\'m covering thin spots and continuing to lose more hair. I went to a specialist, who said to use Rogaine, but after finding out how oily it is and realizing I\'d have to use it every day for the rest of my life or lose the new growth, I bagged it, cut my hair shoulder length, and am just living with it. The hair specialist - a dermatologist who only does hair - said that the condition is called alopecia generalis, and that it will sometimes reverse. Evidently, if the hair gets longer than 3 to 5 inches, it just falls out as the anogen turns to a telogen (official \"hair\" terms. I never thought I\'d be bothered by hair loss, but it\'s been really hard to cope with. Sad to know others have had similar problems.
