Hi Elizabeth
When I was an infant I had excema all over my face, hands, wrists and legs. My parents tried everything also but nothing seemed to work. I was and still am prone to allergies but fortunately I grew out of the excema and only had one other outbreak when I was 19. As it turned out the excema was brought on by an allergy to fish i never knew I had. I was working as a cook in a resturaunt and part of my job was breading fish. The handling of it caused the outbreak but at the time I was unaware I was allregic to it.. I figured this out because I never ate fish and shortly thereafter I tried it and went into anaphalactic shock. I ended up in the emergency room and it all made sense as to why I had the skin outbreak.
Anyway, my suggestion might be to try to remove different thinks your son might be either ingesting or in close contact with to see if anything helps. Also I read about a treatment on the internet called UMF (unique manuka factor). It is a holistic cream made form honey in Australia. It is available on the internet. I have never used it so I can\'t say for sure if it works-but it might be worth a try. Good luck!
