My 8 year old son was diagnosed with asthma as a baby and was put on oral prednisolone quite a few time to treat it. I now know that steroids can depress the adrenal gland which can affect your body’s metabolism. he is very active in sports, sweats alot and eats alot. You would think with all of his activity he would not be overweight. He is 54 inches tall and weighs almost 100lbs. His fat is mostly around his belly. His legs are pretty solid. What can we do to reverse this problem so he can eat normally and not gain weight?
