The area goes red, swollen and itchy, then peels for several days. The only thing that prevents these weekly flareups has been the steriod Prednisone. It is like magic and clears it up in a few days. However it is just a temporary solution. I am at a loss to find the cause of these flareups, and as its affects my face, it is extremely hard to deal with. A skin specialist said the environment is causing it, which does not make sense to me. My next step will be to get comprehensive allergy tests done. Good luck with your skin problems, I have never stopped believing that there is a cure for excema out there!
