Hi, I am new to this site but I must admit it brings a tear to my eye that other people have acutally experienced and understand the frustration of the itchiness that comes with Excema. I have also had it since birth. There are pictures of me as a new born and I have welts all over my body ever since I was born. I am now 29 years old and I have just managed to find a way to keep it under control unless I get stressed then well, you know what happens (flare up time). I sister-in-law\'s sister also suffers excema and I have tried to explain it to her what I do to keep it under control. With all the expensive remedies these days I have found a way to keep my excema under some control without costing exuberant amounts of money. You may laugh at what I have to say but here goes. I find that when I get majorly itchy, I find my skin very dry. Even moisturising every night does not help. What I do is every second night I lather my self in moisturiser - sorbolene is the best - and then I wrap myself up with home brand glad wrap. I put my pajama\'s over the top and then go and sit on the couch for about an hour. I then take it off about 20 minutes before bed and my skin feels great the next morning. All my life I have suffered excema. What works for some does not always work for others. But someone mentioned it to me and I had tried everything else. If you have some severe rashes I suggest that you get some betnovate ointment and put that on each patch before you put the moisturiser on. Then wrap up. You will probably laugh. But I have found some peace from doing this and if I can share some of this peace with one other person then I can feel joy.
