1- Excema often is related to allergies: a. STRIP CARPET - I\'ve gotten back to hardword floors with a small area rug in living room that I use carpet cleaner on monthly. b. BED PLASTIC - I\'ve found a mattress cover with plastic, then I take an egg-crate foam over than (so you don\'t hear the plastic crinkle) The egg-crate washes nicely and is inexpensive to replace when worn out, then cotten only sheets. c. DIET - low peanuts, milk, chocolate d. NO PETS - hardest one on me
2. MOISTURIZE!!!! a. Avoid lotions with perfumes b. My night-time help: I mix 50-50 of VASELINE / HYDROCORTOZONE CREAM -- lather it on and use cotton sweat bands on my elbows and socks for feet and leave on all night. Hydrocortozone creams help with healing and itching, vaseline for moisturizing. Also, this mixture doesn\'t sting/hurt.
I have no insurance for Dr. visits, treatments and expensive topical steroids. Great-Grandma was right...... nature will heal itself...... and I\'ve had good results. I\'ve gone from wearing long-sleeved clothing to cover it (which I think actually was too hot and made it worse!) - to shortsleeves with only an occassional \"pink\" blotch I don\'t allow to get flakey and red.
GOOD LUCK!
