Mark, first of all the worst thing you can do right now is to go on the internet to get info on something you just don\'t know what it is yet. You & your wife are probably freakin out, & that\'s not good for either of you or your daughter.Three years ago my daughter was having re-occuring bladder infections for several mos. She was sent to a specialist and they tested her for reflux. The test revealed she had stage 2 reflux of the kidneys on the left side. With medication a year later she was stage 1, & now she is 10 and has grown out of it. Talk to family members on both sides to see if there is any types of kidney problems, because it is very common to pass on problems like that to children. My niece who is 19 had stage 5 felux at the age of 6 and had surgery for it. She just had identical twins and they both have stage 3 reflux. I had fraternal boy girl twins, and only my daughter got it. I just had a kidney biopsy 2 weeks ago and am waiting on the results. I have very high protein in my urine also, but my protein has been high for 13 years now. The best thing for you both to do now is listen to her dr. and talk to your family and do some research on who has what. If your not comfortable with what the Dr. says get a second opinion, afterall it\'s your daughter.
