Hi Rese,

A DO is a doctor of osteopathy. They are trained much like MD\'s but learn spinal and osseus manipulation in addition.

ND\'s (also called naturopaths or naturopathic physicians) are doctors who study the same sciences as MD\'s and DO\'s but focus on botanical, nutritional and physical medicine and counseling. ND\'s learn to diagnose like conventional physicians but can only do so in states that issue licenses.

There may be a school of osteopathic medicine in Southern California, but I\'m not sure. There are no schools of Naturopathic Medicine there. Arizona is the closest. As far as distance learning goes, it\'s buyer beware!
