I\'ve struggled with some of the same questions myself, and still am. (I\'m currently a naturopathic student, but have\'t had any homeopathic classes yet.) Aside from the lack of scientific sensability, the only people I\'ve met thus far who claim to have benefitted from homeopathy are those who practice it. A literature search reveals very little in the way of quality studies.
Fortunately, the naturopathic schools don\'t have core courses on magnet therapy (or hair analysis or iris analysis), but you will be exposed to a number of unscientific aspects throughout your training.
My advice: --Remember what led you to Bastyr and keep it in mind. (For me it\'s evidence based phytotherapy and nutritional medicine.)
--Find a core group of like minded collegues. They might not be the ones you expect.
--Remind the faculty and administration of your school that you are there to study \"science based natural medicine\".
--Remember that some people will benefit from just about any kind of treatment (the placebo effect)
--Lastly, Don\'t judge your more touchy feely colleagues. Although you may see things from different perspectives, their intentions are just as sincere as yours.
