I was diagnosed with IBS in 1996, and no matter what my doctors did or didn\'t do- it continued to get worse and at times debilitating. For me the end of agony came with recognising that my body responds poorly to many foods. I had to become vegetarian, cut out all dairy exept for cheese, cut out processed foods, white flour and a lot of white sugar, and cut down on bread and potatoe intake, I also had to cut out soda and coffee. The result is that now I eat mostly fresh organic fruit, vegetables, nuts and whole wheat breads. I can not explain the relief and joy I felt at being finally freed from the constant pain. I hope this info helps other people. And believe it or not, I am actually happy that I had the problems I did because it forced me to become far healthier which I believe will significantly reduce my suffering in the future.
