Your previous reply asked how the mangosteen fruit was handled and ended up as juice. The fruit is harvested twice a year mainly in the Pacific Rim area (Thailand, Viet Nam). The fruit is picked from the tree and the leaves are discarded. The entire fruit is frozen within 48 hours of harvest and then is flown to the US where it is pureed and formulated into XanGo. (Because the pericarp of the fruit--where the majority of xanthones are--is extremely bitter, XanGo\'s formulation includes concentrate and puree of several different fruits to combat the bitterness and enhance the taste. XanGo is pasteurized but the majority of the beneficial properties of the xanthones remain intact.

There is also now research being done on the actual XanGo juice. It is being conducted by Dr. Frederic Templeman, MD, the world\'s foremost authority on the mangosteen fruit. His website is http://www.mangosteenmd.com

I understand your skepticism. I\'m an RN and I know there are no \"miracle cures\" But I did read everything I could find on pub med (medline research) and I found that studies have been done on the mangosteen fruit\'s xanthones since 1980!!

I have also researched XanGo\'s executive team and have found them to have exceptional experience in each of their areas of expertise.

XanGo partnered with WILD Flavors, a giant in the beverage distribution industry. Some of their other clients include SoBe beverages, most of the other functional beverages on the market. WILD Flavors is a well established German company worth in excess of 1.8 billion dollars. In the 14 months that XanGo has been on the market they have become WILD Flavors 2nd largest account.

I met with Aaron Garrity, president and COO of XanGo last night and had met with Kent Wood, Executive VP and CFO a couple months back and had the chance to get answers to some of my questions.

You (and your doctor) may want to do a little research on mangosteen, xanthones, WILD Flavors and XanGo--the beverage as well as the company.

XanGo was just awarded patents for more than 100 variations/combinations of the mangosteen fruit which means for the next 20 years no one can market the mangosteen fruit in any form. XanGo is a first to market, new category creator. . . . like Coca Cola and Kleenex, Q Tips, Xerox.

Check out Dr Templeman\'s site for yourself. Then check out XanGo, the juice. Let me know if you\'re interested, I\'ll send you a bottle.
