Dear Alex, I would add to Kay\'s comments that in the U.S. the homeopathic degree may be a CCH (which is obtained via a national test), which qualifies a homeopath to prescribe remedies but not do other medical prescription.

on 2, within the ND degree and within homeopathy there is a wide divergence in the level of skill after a few years. The practitioner who practices diligently and continues to learn will pull away from others through concentrated effort. I have found the same thing to be true with the MDs and DOs I know.

On 3, While I agree with Kay that dual degrees are useful, I am wary of people with five or six degrees. At some point, I wonder if they are interested in practicing or going to school. I also know that my one degree\'s scope is broad enough that I will spend years becoming an expert in each little area.

I hope this helps, Christopher Maloney, Naturopathic Doctor Manchester and Portland, Maine www.maloneymedical.com If replying directly to me, please email me directly. (click my name above the post).
