Dear Gary G,

My sympathies. I believe you are not receiving even the most basic human care. If you are currently being fasted (as recommended by the Merck Manual as the standard treatment for acute pancreatitis) total parenteral nutrition (IV nutrition) may be necessary. The Merck also discusses the use of pancreatic enzymes in large doses for chronic pancreatitis. Large doses of external enzymes slow the production of the hormone that directs the pancreas become more active. The Merck says to use 30,000 units at each meal. Within the alternative field we have a number of things to work with chronic pancreatitis, but for an acute attack, hospitalization is the safest path.

I\'m sorry you find yourself denied what in every other industrialized nation is a right. Chris Maloney, Naturopathic Doctor, Portland and Manchester ME www.maloneymedical.com
