SAMe is the most prescribed antidepressant in Germany with success rate equal to our own in the US with meds. I was surprised to read this but it was in my text book. SAMe can't mix with other things though, including drugs, so I'd talk to your health care professional. The problems listed include lack of research on long term effects, problems regulating dosage since 20/20 suggested that amounts are not regulated and make change by the bottle and drug interaction if drugs became necessary. I read St. Johns Wort can cause liver damage so I'd stay away from that! Good luck! Heather
