According to the Bastyr website a 4-year degree is 30K a year with an estimated yearly cost of 8k for housing. This does not include books or additional living expenses although their on campus housing does seem reasonable for the Seattle area.

What I think it comes down to is an extreme passion for Naturopathy or you have the financial support from family or whatever to pursue the education. For me, I enjoy the subjects and the natural lifestyle but I\'m in California for good. Licensed Naturopathic Doctors cannot practice in CA in the same scope as they can up in Washinton so for me it\'s not worth it to do something that is too costly and unusable where I live. In fact, my degree from Clayton can allow me to practice in the same scope as a licensed ND because of the laws in CA.

Is the accredited ND degree worth it? It\'s up to the individual. I think if you\'re going to go to school in Seattle, Portland or Phoenix/Tempe you\'ll probably have to end up staying in those areas because that\'s where you\'re going to make a living because of the schools and clinics being known to the public. I can tell you in my city, an accredited degree would get me nothing. I\'d be better off getting licensed in massage therapy and fitness/personal training and using the unaccredited degree for enhancement.
