OK....I have never met \"mark\" but I can tell without a doubt that he IS NOT A DOCTOR!! He more than likely is not even a healthcare worker!! NO educated person would ever make such a ridiculis and ignorant comment!! A lung nodule IS NOT a medical term for lung cancer...that is absolutely FALSE!! I am an ICU RN who works with cardiothoracic surgeons on a daily basis, and am very educated on this subject..Unlike Mark!!! It sounds as if mark is a judgemental person with a personal belief that smokers are \"bad People\", and should seek out a psych MD or licensed conseler , that can help him with HIS issues. A diagnosis of a lung nodule is very vague and could be numerous things. Yes, I beleive that she should have further tests..follow up CXR or CT scan. This will help your sister and her doctor in evaluating the nodule, and should certainly be done!!I will also note that you should work with an MD that you know and trust. I have seen so many patients, that trust MD\'s only because they have the letters MD after their name, and this is a dangerous way to approach the managment of your health/condition. Please seek out someone..through friends, family, or contact a support group in your area and some members may be able to give you a name of an MD that they have had good exp. with. Please contact me, if you would like help or suggestions regarding finding a MD. I can not stress enough that YOU need to be your own advocate and you are IN CHARGE of your own health managment...don\'t believe everyone you talk to...do your own research and educate yourself on this topic so you feel more empowered and confident when speaking with MD\'s or RN\'s!!I wish you and your sister that best of luck regarding your situation..and like I mentioned would be happy to help you find various websites that can help with your research. As for mark.......Please seek out help in dealing with your own issues....you NEED it!! If you sense a hint of anger in my reply, it is because marks comments are disturbing and quite simply strange.
