Your case sounds like mine to the T. My pancreatitis was brought on of course from alcohol. I was an everyday wine drinker (my glass a day for the heart). I was hospitalized for 4 days last year. Upon leaving the hospital I was told my diet was unrestricted...so I went back to the wine and was back in the emergency room 2 weeks later. After that trip I gave up my wine for good...never to have another attack until this week. I have been battling the pain for 4 days now. The only relief is to vomit. It has scared me now to think that foods are now giving me these attacks. I ate a salad prior to this attack and was told by a friend of a friend of someone that has it that lettuce is out for anyone with pancreatitus. Now the two favorite things in my life are out...wine and lettuce. I\'m a salad eater to the core. I have been so blind and uneducated to this disease. I do drink my coffee every morning and I\'m waiting for that day to come now where I have to give that up too. After reading your case I have learned a lot from the kinds of foods and things I have to give up or at least cut back. I haven\'t eaten in two days for fear of the pain that comes with this. I did have my coffee this morning and I do get a slight shooting pain in the back, but enough to tolerate. I never realized there were so many people out there with this disease, but we never do research until it happens to \"ME\". Good luck & I hope you never have to experience that kind of pain again. I\'m starting a new life style...TODAY.
Thanks!!!
