Hi Jenny
I have suffered from pancreatitus for the last 2 years. My condition repeatively creates pseudo-cysts that lead to surgery. I have been on LTD since last January. Each time I attempt to eat anything I get pain. I\'ve lost a total of 60lbs since this began. I have found that fiber in the diet is a great help. Additionally, stay away from any \"heavy\" or hard to digest food. Stick with poultry, fish and pasta. Increase fiber and use enzymes before you eat. Do not eat by the clock. Eat only when you\'re hungry and try not to fill up. Eat several small meals. Also, limit your intake of refined sugar. Try to walk everyday.....
Unfortunately, I only have 2/3rds of a pancrease. I have pain everyday and must use narcotics for pain. I\'ve even experimented with \"pot\" to get some relief. This is a nasty condition that has had a incredible impact on everything I do. I can\'t work right now, therefore I had to give up a real good job.
Try not to put yourself in a depression over your health situation. It is very easy to fall into black cloud as a result of all the agony.
Do the best you can. Over time, you\'ll know what you can handle and what you can\'t..good luck!
