A family practitioner can practice in any state or location he or she wishes to be licensed in. Not so with NDs, who must \"fly under the radar\" so to speak in most of the US. Yet, the cost of becoming an ND is high. A while back, there was an Alumni section on Bastyr\'s website and the number of ND grads actually in a practice was pretty low. Most had gone on to write books, work with supplement companies, or market their own wonder drugs, like Joel Wallach did. However, Bastyr claims the default rate on loans is extremely low, so they\'re making $$$ somewhere.
