I am sure that there are many NDs out there that don\'t know what they are doing and that they only give out supplements that they are going to make lots of money on. However, I am sure that there are many NDs out there that we haven\'t heard from that are wonderful at what they do, do get diagnosis right, and give supplements or other natural treatments that really do help. I will depend on the person you see, MD or ND. If they don\'t put much into their education, then they will never learn, even if they do receive more clinical. I don\'t use meds much anymore because all I see are news casts saying they are recalling this medication, or tv ads listing side effects that include fatal ones. I know that natural products can also do this, but you don\'t hear about them as much, so I stay away from pharmaceuticals. When my youngest was sick, she was given amoxicillin. It made her worse than what she was sick with. She had bad diarrhea due to it. Nothing stayed in her and she ended up with a horrible rash on her bottom due to the diarrhea. I was treating an infection but making her dehydrated because of her medication. She is not allergic to it, that is just a side effect. Not much good in my mind. So, I really think that it matters on who the ND or MD is that you see. There may be many bad NDs out there, but I am sure there are many great NDs out there because the clinic here in my town has expanded 3 times in 6 years, any other ND in my province seems to have a very busy practice. It all matters on how much extra they are willing to put into their education. Jennifer
