It\'s true that MDs can miss a diagnosis. They\'re only human. But, at least they recieve enough clinical experience to get it right more often then not. Also, many naturopaths rely on catch-all diagnoses (such as food intolerances and intestinal disbiosis) to explain every patient\'s experience. Often, these are made using unreliable tests such as VEGA machines, iridology, hair analysis, Carrol testing and the like.

Alzheimer\'s dementia is notoriously difficult to diagnose in live persons. Until very recently, it could only be reliably diagnosed at autopsy. Conventional treatments for AD are mediocre, at best. But, more and more people are surviving cancer (I have several in my family) using less invasive surgical techniques, targetd chemotherapy and radiation. Parkinson\'s can\'t be cured YET by either conventional or natural medicine. But there are meds that can control symptoms and delay progression. No, we CAN\"T cure everything, or even treat all symptoms with any system of medicine. This is certainly not to say that CAM therapies don\'t have a role to play. They do. And it will grow increasingly larger, I believe. That\'s why increasing numbers of docs are integrating CAM therapies into their practices and more research is being funded.

Finally, the doctors prescribing expensive meds are rarely profitting from prescribing them. Naturopaths, in my experience, often prescribe scads of supplements, at 100% markup, to pad their own incomes. I agree totally that simply making big $$$\'s is the wrong reason to go into any type of healthcare.

Be well,

MS3
