Some licensed graduates of the 4-year ND schools are biased when it comes to distance learning. This is understandable. What you are going to learn via distance learning does not compare to what you can learn in a classroom setting with a professor, other students and access to labs, etc. What is great is the required 1000 hour clinical that the school you\'re looking into requires. Hopefully you can find an ND in your area that is willing to spend 1000 hours with you. That\'s a lot of time considering the 4-year ND students, if I am remembering correctly, have to do 1200 hours.

Read Derek\'s post below. If this is what you want to do and are happy with your decision, will be abiding by the laws of your city and state, then go for it.

I am curious with what school requires the 1000 hours. I am a student with Clayton College and am loving it. I do not intend to open a practice but possibly a business that offers a spa like setting with massage, facials, supplements, etc.

Just a FYI for all distance learning prospective students, Clayton College does offer a Doctor of Natural Health degree that is slightly different than their ND program. This is helpful if the area that you\'re in forbides the us of the ND title if you\'re not licensed.
