The Institute of Alternative Medicines and Research, Calcutta that you found in the website is Indian based alternative school. Their website is quite attractive, but again a poor quality school.. They run in-room classes, correspondence courses and sell diploma/degrees as well.. Just like what Weston Reserve University and AMRI do.
Have you heard about The Open International University for Complementary Medicines (OIUCM), Sri Lanka? This is the \'grand father\' of diploma mill awarding degree in complementary medicines/alternative medicines.. The WRU, AMRI and few Indian based schools are affiliated to this OIUCM..
OIUCM has no standard at all although they claim that they are established during the WHO ALMA ATA DECLARATION in 1962.. Because the name of WHO, many students bought their degrees from OIUCM.. They offer 4 weeks intensive acupuncture course, upon completion students will get a diploma in acupuncture, and by paying additional money, they will get a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Acupuncture.. However, one still can get their MD/PhD/DSc in Alternative Medicines by paying money directly without any course works or supervised training..
