Larry,

Where and when did you study osteopathy? I have two friends, one a D.O. and one who left D.O school to study chiro. Both have explained to me that osteopathic manipulation was joked about rather than embraced by their fellow osteopathy students.

The D.O.\'s who practice in my area largely practice as M.D.s and not one of them does acupuncture, home births or botanical medicine. I know this partly because my N.D. colleagues and I get referrals from them.

I\'m curious here; this is not a flame.

It\'s been my experience that, if you want to practice the modalities that an N.D. learns, you\'re going to need to study at a school such as Bastyr, SCNM, etc.

I wouldn\'t pretend to be capable of doing an LP had I spent a few weekends learning it while I took ski vacations or the like dressed up as CME seminars (okay, sarcasm there...). The same holds true for acupuncture, midwifery, botanical medicine as well as nutrition or diet therapy.

Regards,

John
