Interesting post; however naturopathy is somewhat divided. there are those who seek to medicalize the profession like you note above and there are those who practice true to the Definition established by it's founder, Dr. Benedict Lust, ND, MD, DO, DC. Under this definition not only is naturopathy not the practice of medicine as claimed in the first paragraph of your post, but naturopathy is according to Dr. Lust just the opposite of the practice of Medicine.
