Lung Nodule--biopsy or PET Scan?

Had bronchitis in Sept. 2005--family doctor did xray, found spot, referred me to Pulmonologist. He did CT scan in Nov. 2005 and Feb. 2006, nodule has grown from 3 to 3.1. Nodule has calcification in it and an uneven edge on one side. Dr. concerned because of growth and uneven edge may indicate cancer. Suggests either needle biopsy or PET Scan--says biopsy 100% sure results; PET Scan about 95% sure. (I\'m afraid of needle biopsy as I don\'t know if I can lie still on my stomach for 30 min. plus having that needle in my back and will I feel the needle?) I\'m 67, non-smoker, eat right, exercise on treadmill 30 min. ea. day; generally good health. Pls let me know your experience with either test. I must give Dr. answer by Wed., 3/8/06.
