If you can, stay away from medications, as many times they are band-aids and not the cure. Lowering blood pressure CAN be done naturally, I have done it. #1 Lose weight if you are over weight. #2 Change your diet: eat very little meat, eat extra fruits, veggies, legumes, grains and nuts. I went vegan and I highly suggest it, as animal flesh wreaks havoc on our bodies #3 Take long walks every other day #4 Drink, drink, drink water, about half your body weight daily #5 Avoid and eliminate salt, sugar, dairy, caffeine, fried food and junk food but make sure you are getting extra potassium through fruit #6 natural supplements, got to have them. The absolute best supplement I take and highly suggest is OPC-3, a super strong anti-oxident, it cleans out the blood and the entire circulatory system.
