I\'ll clarify,

Only graduates of CNME accredited schools (National, Bastyr, Southwest, Brideport, Canadian) can legally \"diagnose or treat patients\" (a legal definition) in licensed states, territories and Kansas.

People who recieve degrees from non CNME accredited schools may not call themselves naturopaths, ND\'s, NMD\'s or physicians in these states or territories.

Those with degrees from CNME accredited schools, mail order schools or, in some cases, with no training whatsoever can call themselves ND\'s in non-licensing states (except Tennessee and Carolina, where naturopathy is illegal, and Kansas, which has title restriction). They can provide lifestyle advice for staying healthy but NOT diagnose or treat.

Minor surgery and limited pharmacology have been in Naturopathy since it was first codified early in the century.

Hope this clears things up.
