Sorry for the delay. The problems that Ozelle had were caused by their mis-identification of the active ingredient of Anvirzel. It has been shown that the primary cytotoxic (cancer cell killing) effect of anvirzel is due primarily to the presence of oleandrin, which is the toxin in oleander that everyone warns about. Unfortunately, oleandrin is somewhat unstable when it is extracted from the oleander plant using the Ozel patent method, which is also the \'Oleander soup\' method. Basically, if the extract is made in large batches, such as would be made for phharmaceutical production, the oleandrin is hydrolyzed (degraded by water) to oleandrigenin, which is not nearly as effective. Also the time of year that the plant is harvested, the general growth conditions, and the pre-extraction handling all effect the level of oleandrin in the extract. Basically, if you want to make a usaple extract, you must analyze the product of each preparation for oleandrin content. The Ozelle freeze dried extract typically contained 0.4 to 0.7 % by weight oleandrin, with 0.2 to 0.5 % oleandrigenin. There are a number (9-11?)of other related molecules present at much lower concentrations. There are currently no commercial sources of Anvirzel other than Salud Integral in Honduras, and reports I have heard indicate that they either are or are not in production. Ozelle has a long history of problems, I know very little about the current incarnation other than that they are soliciting investment.
