Hi, I am dealing with amoebas also, which I contracted in Guatemala last winter. I am on round two of Metronidazole, commonly known as Flagyl. It is an antibiotic, and is commonly prescribed for amoebas and yeast infections. I never take chemicals, but was desperate to be rid of the little creatures. The side effects I\'ve noticed are nausea, but that can also be from the die-off of the creatures, spaceyness, slight confusion, etc. I don\'t know what the long-term effects are, if any. It is important to complete the dosage, and not to drink alcohol while taking the medicine. Also, yeasty foods, like bread, fermented foods, sugar, beer, wine, etc. will only feed the creatures. I hope that helps...Namaste, Brian
