Posted by Kay on 07/10/02 at 07:42 PMThe government doesn\'t license herbalists in the US. I\'m under the impression that so long as an herb is an OTC product anyone can reccomend it.
The rub is that you cannot diagnose a medical condition or treat it unless you are a licensed physician (naturopathic, osteopathic or allopathic),PA, nurse practioner, or chiropracter. Therefore, you can reccomend an herbal product for general health maintainance but, cannot perscribe for a specific health condition.
