is your SH the result of a stroke? If so, I can tell you that MOTIVATION is the key word. My mom suffered a massive stroke when she was only 40 and was left with SH on the right side of the body (her eyesight is very impaired, too). Now, she used to be an athlete - and a very good (right-handed) artist! - but she wouldn\'t give in to depression and self-pity, and all the doctors were amazed at the speed and extent of her recovery. Even today, more than 20 years later, she does all the chores - everything! - by herself. Not because she couldn\'t get any help, but because she WOULDN\'T. But even if your SH isn\'t the result of a stroke, I can say this to you: TRY, TRY ANYTHING! The fact is that SH (as so many other brain-related conditions) isn\'t very well researched, it seems, so orthodox medicine can\'t really offer much (except physiotherapy which IS very important). But I\'ve heard of cases where acupuncture, for example, was of great help (because it helps restore the brain-muscle connections, it seems); I have also read about dance/music therapy being of great help. (There is an institute in Sweden and the USA dedicated to the study and promotion of this alternative form of treatment.) And essential oils (i. e. aromatherapy) can definitely help you combat spasticity. So if your naturopath say (s)he can be of help, give it a try. But most important of all: don\'t give up!
Best wishes,
Hestia
